We’ve come a long way since 1983 when we launched this business line with just one vessel.
Now SK Shipping operates a fleet of about 80 dry bulk carriers and our office network spans
the world from Shanghai through London.

Our global presence and the range of vessels at our disposal allow SK Shipping to offer
unparalleled flexibility in this highly volatile market: flexibility over trade routes, vessels and
the cargo we can carry.

Our vessel transport goods around the world. Our area of concentration is the Pacific Basin,
but our competency extends to Europe and North America. We are active in all four major
classes of vessels: our Capesize, Panamax, Handymax and Handy vessels make around 500
trips a year. Our expertise and experience cover the transportation of products from coal
, iron ore, fertilizer through to salt and grain.

Some of South Korea’s largest industrial players have confirmed their confidence in us by signing
long-term contracts. We have an 18-year deal with the Korea Electric Power Corporation.
We successfully fulfilled a 5-year contract with China’s largest coal and coke producer,
transporting almost 50 million tonnes of coal a year.

We have worked for large companies in Korea and Japan, including the likes of Mitsubishi,
Hanwha, Itochu, Sumitomo and Zennoh. They were so pleased with our service, they’ve now
become loyal customers, striking up close and long-term relations with us.

invest time and energy into developing relations of mutual trust and demonstrated responsibility

And we are constantly anticipating new trends. We have countered the highly dynamic nature
of this business area by becoming heavily involved in spot trading. We are now concentrating
our focus on smaller-volume transportation. The small-sized vessels are can be adapted this
enter less developed ports. This way, we can offer a tailored service to more customers
located in diverse areas.
