 New Ship Building Consultation and Supervision

We have taken advantage of South Korea’s leading position in shipbuilding and combined
it with our own extensive experience in the field. SK Shipping can act as a consultant
for companies seeking to commission a new vessel. Our service ranges from advising
on vessel design to the supervision of new orders for ships.

Over the years, we have built up considerable expertise in overseeing design and
construction of a wide variety of vessels. SK Shipping supervised the building of a
chemical tanker for Japanese shippers Tokyo Marine and the construction of four Capesize
bulk carriers for Mitsui O.S.K Lines. Other younger, smaller companies have also sought

Technical Consultation, Survey and Inspection

SK Shipping can provide consultative services for ensuring compliance with national maritime
legislation. One of our specialisms is obtaining compliance with the US’s OPA-90 (Oil pollution act).
We provide shipping companies with the necessary spec conversion, surveys and documents to
ensure their vessels are guaranteed trouble-free sailing in American waters.
