SK Shipping verifies that safety/quality/ environment standards are maintained by having company safety
inspectors to inspect the status of vessels against a list of 250 checkpoints at regular intervals.
Necessary corrective actions revealed during the inspection are assigned to relevant personnel to be implemented right away.
This system is called ISR (Integrated Safety Rating).
At every calling to ports in Korea, superintendents visit vessels to check the operating, maintenance, and the crew condition. Findings are reported to the vessel and company's office where adequate measures are taken. This is another way to ensure vessels maintain their best condition and the crews are motivated.
Onboard staff themselves conduct internal inspection and audit. These Ship-self ISR and Ship-self Audit systems ensure necessary immediate measures are taken to maintain crew members' awareness of safety/quality/environment at a high level.
